This high performance Grand National type 200-4R comes with a larger than stock intermediate billet servo which gives firmer 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. This servo has an 11% larger apply area than the Grand National servo. It comes with the Mega Valve that raises the fluid pressure and gives a firmer shift and more holding power in all the gears, elevated pressure regulator spring, high output pump slide spring and an oversize low / reverse boost valve. These are the valves you’ve heard about. All of our high performance 200-4R transmissions come with a high performance Transgo shift kit installed and a heat treated sun gear shell. The stock seven-vane pump is replaced with a thirteen-vane high performance / high volume pump. Included is a 4th gear converter lock-up switch. The stock intermediate band is replaced with a black carbon fiber band. Also included in this package deal is a heavy-duty balanced stall converter that has furnace-brazed fins, a Sonnax carbon fiber clutch and needle bearings for added strength (#2). This stall converter can be ordered with stall speeds of 1800, 2000, 2300, 2600 or 2800 RPM and gives a faster launch than a stock converter. It also comes with a universal-fit throttle-valve cable and dip stick. The 200-4R transmission will fit all GM motors that have full size bell housings. This is a perfect choice, if you have a non-Chevy motor. You can expect a 30 to 40% increase in gas mileage (over a 3-speed) on the road. Good for motors up to 400 horse power using pump gasoline, see chart below. Add torque converter and hard shaft upgrades if needed.

#1. " Street Raptor " Fits 200-4R transmissions (1981-1989). This heavy duty converter is balanced and has furnace brazed fins and for added strength. If you have a problem with your fins coming loose this is the way to go. This converter stalls at 2200 to 2500 RPM and gives a faster launch than a stock converter. Also comes in 1700 and 2000 stall speeds. Good up to 350 horse power. Cost $175.00

#2. " Super Street Raptor " Fits 200-4R transmissions (1981-1995). This stall converter is balanced, has furnace brazed fins, all bearing construction and a carbon fiber clutch. This  converter can be ordered with stall speeds of 2000, 2300, 2600 or 2800 RPM. Can also be ordered with an 1800 RPM stall speed for towing, 4WD and stock motors. We now have this converter in a 1200 RPM stall speed for diesels. No Nitrous, buy #2X if you have Nitrous. Good up to 450 horse power. Cost $295.00

The introduction of lock-up torque converters from the OEM manufacturers in 1979 created a challenge for the high performance torque converter industry to develop, design and manufacture this type of torque converter. Benefits of the lock-up torque are less heat in the transmission and better fuel efficiency. Precision Industries designed the first 9.5 & 10.5-inch lock-up torque converter in 1992.

Precision Industries starts the production of these Chevy torque converters with a 98 pound piece of billet steel that we machine in our CNC equipment ending up with a one piece front cover weighing 12 pounds depending on what torque converter series we are building. The billet front cover is one of many reasons that enable Precision Industries to produce a superior product over many of our competitors that try to imitate and copy our product designs. We prefer machining our billet front covers over purchasing forged steel covers due to balancing, excessive weight and density problems that can arise from forgings in torque converters. One of the benefits of our cover is increased clutch surface area by as much as five times over OEM specifications. The increase in clutch surface area along with the unique clutch lining we use ensures that no matter what the application you can retain the lock-up feature for efficiency without durability issues.
